Sept 10-11

2021 Lead Bold Conference
Go...And Lead Bold! This past year+ forced a pause for many ministry leaders. Even before the pandemic, though, women in ministry often felt overlooked, hindered or just plain stopped. Yet, we know God has called us. So instead of waiting back, we will step forward and live out God’s purposes for us. The Lead Bold Fall Conference will empower and equip you to GO!
During the conference you will experience inspiring:
-
main sessions
-
insightful workshops
-
dynamic discussion groups
-
and even soul-enriching personal reflection time
You’ll pick which two of the four workshops you’ll attend, enabling you to customize which topics and tools will best suit your ministry season. And maybe best of all, you will experience community with other female ministry leaders who “get you” and are ready to embolden you to reach your God-given leadership potential.
[For those interested in Spanish interpretation, we will be offering interpretive services throughout the conference. Please select your Spanish preferences when you purchase your ticket.]

2021 Keynote Speaker
Sharon Norris Elliott
Live significantly!” That’s the inspiring message of Sharon Norris Elliott, award-winning author, popular speaker, astute Bible teacher, literary agent and founder/CEO of Life That Matters Ministries and AuthorizeMe®. Sharon is amazed at how God’s goodness has brought her from being “Straight Outta Compton” to standing before great people and audiences. Dedicated to teaching and learning, she is a cum laude college graduate (Biola University), holder of an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree, and member of several prestigious organizations (ACE, AWSA). Sharon is also a religious broadcaster hosting her own show, Life That Matters with Sharon Norris Elliott, and a women’s roundtable show, A View from the Upper Room, on The Holy Spirit Broadcasting Network (HSBN.tv), and the Christian Women’s Word Network (CWWN.tv). Sharon recently retired from her 35-year career as an English teacher at Orange Lutheran High School in Southern California. She and her husband James serve at Christ Second Baptist Church in Long Beach, CA. They enjoy their empty nest, travelling, and visiting their children and grandchildren. Workshops
Each attendee can choose two workshops in which to participate during the conference.
Leading from the Margins
Many anointed leaders are not given the opportunities to lead - especially when they do not fit the traditional leadership mold that pervades our corporate and even ministry worlds. However, cultural change is not coming from top tier leadership but from groundswells of those on the edges. This workshop will identify strategies to bring movement to a God-given calling even when there has been no formal invitation to lead. As women and as leaders, we must learn to steward our voices and our relational capital to create the change that is desired. Once God has activated us, we really do not need the permission of others to move forward in obedience. We simply need tenacity and discernment to craft our own path and lead from the margins.
The Art of Spiritual Discernment: Where Prayer and Action Meet
We make choices every day. Some are life-altering and others not so much. Spiritual discernment is a function of our personal relationship with God. The more deeply we know the Lord, the easier it will be to sense what He desires us to do. Discernment describes any process of sifting, weighing or discriminating what is of God from what might arise from other sources. Bring to this break-out session a matter of personal discernment and we will practice together the art of finding God’s call in daily life.
The Bold Pause
You’re in a conversation with a team-member when suddenly something is said and you feel yourself starting to react. You get hot, your palms become sweaty, your jaw clenches, and your breath becomes shallow. Everything in you wants to react in the moment. So you do. But all that comes of it are bad feelings, overly-harsh words and no resolution. What if you had the tools to ensure that same scenario could play out in a healthy, constructive way? This workshop will teach you the “bold pause,” the space in which you align your intent (what you want to do) with your impact (how the action is experienced) in order to experience the best outcome.
Leadership Influence:
Bringing out the Best in Others
Great leaders cast a compelling vision that inspires others to roll up their sleeves and join in. But it takes more than a strong vision to grow a strong team. Influential leaders must bring out the best in others! They go beyond self-awareness...they are also “others-aware.” The most effective leaders consistently seek to understand the uniqueness of each person on their team. In this practical workshop we will explore ways to lean into this powerful opportunity to develop the people you are leading. What an incredible privilege we have to speak life, spark imagination, and influence people to become all that they are meant to be! Let's dig deep as we consider tangible ways to sow seeds that will lead to a harvest of goodness in the kingdom.
Crafting a Compelling Message:
Speaker Training
Friday, Sept 10th | 1-4PM | $60
Do you love words? Are words your wheelhouse? Do you have a message God’s prompting you to share? Then jump in with both feet and take those words from the page to the platform. Whether you want to develop your budding speaking gifts or you are already speaking/teaching/preaching in your ministry setting, we want to help you move from called to equipped with whatever message God is writing in you.
During this pre-conference you will learn to:
-
Plan and create compelling content
-
Deliver with excellence and confidence
-
Get over comparison traps
-
Engage your audience from beginning to end
Tammy Whitehurst
As an author, blogger, and full time speaker Tammy encourages and challenges audiences to live life kicked up a notch. She has written articles for Lifeway magazines, Woman's World, Mature Living, Christianity Today and many other publications. Her devotional, High Heels and Hallelujahs is a hit with women in a fast paced world. She is also the co-owner of the Christian Communicators Conference--a training retreat for speakers. However, to those who know her best she is simply Davis’s wife, a former middle school teacher, and a proud mom to four grown kids. She struggles like the rest of us with dust, dog hair, cellulite, junk drawers, and wrinkles.
